ticking when ildeling

05 400ex has a ticking noise when ildeling.only have 20 hours on it.lost the thrill for it ready to sell!:mad:

valves mine usually always tick i leave them on the loose side dont want them too tight if it only has 20hrs on it bring it to honda they will fix it if its that much of an issue for you if your not happy go 416 its faster ALOT FASTER:devil:

I think you are supposed to take it in about 20 hours after you buy it to have th evalves adjusted and the oil changed and all that stuff. Or at least thats what my friend had to do with his 450r. But that is your valves ticking, almost every quad I have ever seen does it.

If you lost thrill with it already it sounds like you should have bought a 450r. I think they are only like a grand more. After riding a piped 400ex and then hopping onto a 450r is like goign from a power wheels jeep to a........ well a 450r, lol. There is absolutely no comparission between the 2.

if you havent got the 20 hour service done yet then the ticking noise is a givin...take it to honda...they will get that breaki in oil out and adjust the valves...cuz the valves are doin the ticking...my 05 did the same thing..I took it in,got it serviced, and its got more bite now then it did when I 1st got it!!
