The 300 has a lot more potential. The 250 is a great bike, but you'll be much happier on a 300. Vinco, Pa?

i completely agree you may not have "outgrown" the 250 but its lost its funness (is that a word?) the 300 is sooooo much more fun

i have 300 and im getting a 330 kit for it , you can do alot to them to make them fast as heck . the 330 kit im buying and all the cam and stuff with it and gearing it will do about 75 so yah thats a big step up from a 250. just put it this way , my buddy has the same 330 kit and he can toast a stock 400 and is neck and neck with a piped z 400

yo man get the 300 so much better than a 250. Especially in handleing and power. Top speed is lik a 5-10 mph difference but who cares bout speed its all accereration. I mean a 250 is fun to play around on lik wheelies on the road but if u wanna actually accererate fast and like wheelie forever go with at 300.

If u lookin for 1 any time soon take a look at mine i had it since june never raced er anything only trail ridden

go with a 400ex cuz the mods for a 300 are limited and parts cost more. the 400ex replacement parts are cheap and you can mod the heck out of it.
good luck

There's a 96 in Heilwood for $1500. It has 400ex front suspension, black Maier plastic, and a couple other goodies. I live in Clymer.

im 14 too and i have a nice 300ex and its alot of fun to ride. even tho mine isnt stock they r still alot of fun to ride stock too and when you feel you want more power theres a lot of things you can do to them and there really reliable as well. so i woul go with a 300ex if i were you

Yeah, there may be a limit on some parts for the 300EX, but we still got enough stuff to get the job done. As for parts being cheaper, I highly doubt that, considering most companies ask the same price for a type of part. And as for modding them, there's a hell of a lot you can do to the motor on a 300. They can be punched out and stroked to more than 400cc's. I've heard of some being built to 420's or more. Soo. I'd say, get a 300 and stick with it until you're ready to step up to something really bad, like the 450R.
