Getting the best out of a z400.

I was wondering, what is the best thing to buy for a z400 with-in the motor to make the biggest difference? I was thinking about a cam. Anyone got any sugjesstions?

with the DRZ basegasket wont you have to run better than pump gas with the higher compression? didnt they bump down the compression for the Z so you could run pump gas?

the z has like 11.3to 1 i would think u could get by using 91 octane

yea but with different base gasket the compression would go up and wouldnt u need a higher octane gas? isnt the drz dirtbike motor 12.2:1 comp? with that gakset in the Z motor it would get to that wouldnt it

i think im just going to get a cam, the price isn't that bad and i think with i CDI Box it will be higher reved and that means quicker blowing up.

if u just trail ride a lot of people go with just the intake cam

are you saying that a cdi box will cause your bike to blow up faster? everyone i know has a cdi and not one single blown engine because of it.

Well i was just thinking that with the motor being able to rev higher that it would blow it up faster.

some phat Stage II Hotcams, Kibblewhite valve springs, port and polish, Full Race Hinson Clutch. Thats as much as i can think of for things inside the motor.

with just a exhaust system you'll be faster than 400ex s with a ton of money into them.imagine what it could do with the 440 kit with a cam and cdi.WOW!

Dylan had a sucky take off and i was side by side with you when i raced you dude.... plus your motor has **** in it and whats mine got? other then a slip on and jet kit??? exactly.

lol, i got a hotcam, which your getting, i got a bored .020 piston, to a roughly a 406, with stock compression... doesnt do **** lol... and i got jet kit and K&N filter...

its nothing to argue over...

well i have a aftermarket piston, thats it.... it really isnt anything to brag about... doesnt do ****... i replaced it as maintenance, not for the hell of it
