it depends on the compression its been set up for, if the heads milled or has more compression than stock.. its of course gonna be diffrent. if its stock...160 or anything less would be a good time to do it. mines 210 and if I saw it hit 180... I'd be somewhat concerned. Ive seen R's run ok w/ less... but 160 is my calling point, diffrent motors vary..

the more you do it the more you keep your hp up. i do it about every 6 months. 2 times a year

once every 3 yrs or so... i usually ride it till the piston detonates... i think imma change strategies and put a piston and rings in it every 2 yrs an c if i can get a lil more life outta eech bore. by the way CRYO yur topend. itl last atleast twice as long. was the best 70$ i ever spent.

i bought a motor for my project and it runs but in a couple months i wont to put a fresh top end in it so i know its good...but the problem is the guy i bought it from said it was a 262..what bore what give it a 262? and what is the biggest size you can go before you have to resleeve it?

The absolute minimum for a stroke to run is around 120 somewhere, but like the others have said once it has dropped 30 or 40 psi form a fresh rebuild rering to save $$

180 maybe after a fresh topend but anythign over 150 would be nice. That or check the compression and tell them you want money knocked off because you will have to bore it in the near future depending on how hard you ride it.
