what carb would be the best for my 440 bore, 13:1 JE piston, hotcams (old) stage 2 cam, fmf slip-on

i plan on gettin a sparks x-6 and an aluminum air box. i know my motor is being restricted a lot, but i can't decide wich carb to go with...edlebrock or the fcr.

anyother suggestions for mods, its an mx bike?

most tend to like the fcr's over the edelbrocks.

I have had allot of experience with both carbs and the fcr is a better carb period.:)

the fcr 40 is a newer version and is simply a better carb. however, it doesn't fit onto the 400ex that well. you need to move your air box forward a bit or make an adaptor to fit. i first made an adaptor but i just felt like it was rigged on and i didn't even know if it was air tight. i then bought a NOSS adaptor and it turned out that piece didn't even fit into the air boot properly and it was still too short. so i had to heat up the air boot and then still move my air box forward probably a centimeter. its all good now but still the gas tank wants to rest on the carb a bit. for the average person, i would get the 39 or 41mm. for someone who is looking for the best, the 40mm is better but is more of a pain in the rear to get working properly.
