Im thinking about breaking down and buying a 125 dirt bike instead of another quad. I am much better on quads but I can get a nice 125 bike for cheaper than I can get a nice 400ex or R or something like that. Some of my buddies have bikes and are trying to get me buy one after they switched from quads to bikes and like them a lot more. Do you guys think I should go for a bike or stick with quads? Please reply.

I started on quads, switched to bikes and went back to quads, I thought bikes were fun but nothing beats riding a quad, Dirtbikes have there ups and downs such as quads but it just all depends on you.

ive raced bikes for the past 2 or 3 years now, and after I got this 300ex with actually something other than stock suspension on it im thinking about selling my race bike and getting a 450r or something in that line.

quads all the way!!! but if you do decide to get a bike, then go with a 250 4 stroker:)

I don't have enough money for a big 4stroke bike so i would be getting a 2stroke 125. Is there any brands to stay away from?

if you can afford it get the new 05 yz125, definately the best running stroke 2 stroke bike ive ever ridden and takes the corners like its nothing with the new alum. frame. The newer cr125s (like 98-04) seem to really lack on power stock but the 05 is supposed to have a really nice race engine from the factory. I race a 05 crf250 though because i like the 4 stroke motor much better. If you want a little older bike ive got a 03 yz125 i used to race that needs a little work but not much at all. Heres the thread for it- http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1434425#post1434425 Hope I helped.

thats a good deal on your yz but im in PA and cant pick it up. I think i would be leaning towards an rm but its more on whatever kind of deal i can find. I rode my friend's 98 kx125 and my other friend's 1990 rm 125 and the rm has much better top end and overall power than the kx so i think id go for the suzuki first. Thanks for the input.

i didnt think the 250 4-strokes would be that much more than a 125:confused: but i used to have a 2003 RM125 and it was FAST! but it wasnt stock either:D i had DEP exhaust, a 134cc kit, and a uni filter

Buy something along the lines of a playbike, like crf150 etc, you can still have your quad and you can have just as much or more fun on a playbike than a quad or big bike. I plan on getting a playbike myself soon. Just my opinion though.
