i used to. a kid up the road had a 12ft table and a 20ft creek jump for bmx. we were in the middle of building a downhill course when he moved. I still ride some but mainly just for exercise. nowhere around here to jump other than a skate park, whick doesn't work to well with a dirt jumper and and a park overrun with skaters.

This guy is an idiot!

I'm sure a lot of the people that are into quads today were at one time into bmx... then motocross... then as they became available, the sport quads we ride today. Some of us are not so lucky as to have our mom's buy us any quad we want, we had to start somewhere!

Any body ever heard of Jon Guetter. :huh I bet he was pulling backflips on a BMX bike long before he was huckin' flips on the fo' fiddy! I am only 21 but I can remember the day when there were very few ATV's to choose from and the aftermarket parts were just not there.

p.s. I just pulled my p.k. ripper out of the garage and I think it is going to get a rebuild as soon as I finish the 400.

alright i have a few questions because i want to start bmx this summer. my rim bent jumping (small jump, it gets you like 2 feet high). i have a huffy bike...i know i know....could it be the company that had cheap equipment on it? my thinking is that if i just get new rims, it should be fine. also, can you send me some links to good bmx sites, mostly with message boards that are active please. thanks.

oh and as to blaze1's comment, i know it wasnt to me at all, but i have a nice 400ex, 2 guitars, a good 120w amp, a good computer, tv and big floor speakers in my room...and im only 15. thing is, i work 20 hours a week on top of almost 40 hours of school. so it seems like im spoiled with all the stuff i have, but i work really hard for it

I would search ebay, theres bikes that were almost a grand to build for 250 and such on there alot. If not check out www.danscomp.com they have a bike called the poverty buck 99 thats a good starter bike, my friend has one and its held up pretty well, also i think its khe has a bike called the beater bike, other then that your looking at 250-300 for a good bike that wont break, a good bike usually has the 3 piece crank, and 14mm axles.

its so you cant bend your sprocket when you grind

Sealed bearings are almost like your skateboard wheel bearings, its more or less more durable and they wont fall apart on you, I went with unsealed pedals and a year later my pedals are missing about 65% of the balls for the bearings :o

I used to ride bmx, i had a DK six pack (smaller version of the old, good general lee) with poverty 3pc cranks, s&m redneck, alex triple wall rims with poverty sealed hubs, sealed peddals, kink sprocket, then i sold it for 300 to my sisters ex bf! haha, i kinda miss it, id like to try bmx agian, just for the hell of it.
I would really like to have a T-1 barcode frame and build it from the ground up, those are probly the best frames ever.

I just got my old freestyle bike back! I bought it 14 years ago. Its a redline RL 20 II. I want to restore it. I used to race and took first every time. My cousin was pro and sponcered. I still love riding but I'm a bit old now --29. I bodybuild so I cant move as good as I used to. I swear the bikes seem heavy as hell. I must have been stronger when I was 16. HA HA.

To save weight alot of riders only use pegs on one side, It makes sense becuase most of us can only grind on one side, so unless you flatland or you can grind with both sides its pointess in a way, that and it saves money cause you can run the other set of pegs on your other bikes.. lol

That or you can run both sides so you can do flatland, which is hard as hell takes alot of balance and pratice.
