aftermarket gears

[underpowered]

one of my buddies just got done putting a 440 kit in his 2001 400ex. he has ridden it a couple of times without problems. well, yesterday he was riding it and shifted from third to fourth fine but when he downshiifted back to third the engine locked up. he got it refired and was able to limp it back to his house. after checking some obvious things, he has came to the conclusion that third gear has desentagrated (sp?). does anyone know if anybody makes aftermarket gearsets for the 400. I have seen ones for the 250r but not for a 400. he wants somethin a little stronger than stock.

I havent seen any.... Only for the 250r as youve stated....
2nd gear is the first gear to go usually in this machine it seems, but I guess it wouldnt be out of the ordinary for 3rd to be smoked. Id just replace it and inspect the rest of the gears and replace any chewed up ones as well.

do a search or pm chad502ex. i think they do make them but i am not 100% sure.
