Well..I'm finishing ordering stuff for the 416 and such..But I want a fun little dirtbike to ride..I've been reading up on these and they sound like a really good play/trail/whatever bikes..And would be rather cheap to build really..Just wondering what you guys think..And any ideas where to look for frames, roller chassies, and motors..thanks alot! :)

I've owned both a xr100 and a cr80, I'd say put something a little bigger, a xr100 is a little slow. I'd put a xr200 or xr250 motor in it.

my friend jsut got a KX110, 05 model. its actually pretty fun. its one size over a cr50 and has decent suspension and power for its size.

get a yz frame and put a ttr 125 motor in it. Put a 150cc bore kit in it. The trr's are really fun bikes

I think I'd rather just keep the cr motor in it. Those little 80's fun to ride.

a cr 80 with an adult on it is no fun, to hard to keep in the power, too much maintence etc, you get a few buddies and a coupel worked xr 100s and its an awesome time

Yeah, you have to keep them on the pipe unless you have reeds and such and its not as bad, I still love the 80 motor in their though

100XR motor is pretty weak compared to the CR80, i dunno why you would want a XR100 motor in that frame unless your 13-15. You'll get bored of it really fast, i had both bike, so im just blowing hot air outa my *** :)

Hey PVT, im tryin do the same thing, im tryin to get rid of our XR200 to get an 80 first off. I was lookin around and it seems like the biggest motor youd be able to fit ok and work well in a little 80 seems to be an XR100, also powroll makes som nice big bore kits that would prolly make a 100 rip:D

I would just put a 100cc kit and a pipe on the cr motor and be done with it. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper than getting an xr motor, modding it, and then swapping the motors. It would probably have alot more power too.

Heck a xr100 has 6-10 horse power if your lucky, cr80s are close to 19 or 20 lol. You can allready see which would be more fun, Even a xr100 motor worked to a 120 or so wouldnt come close to a cr80. But the cr80 wont have the lowend which most people want.

Yea, youve got a point, but dont you think that the basically no hassle 4 stroke motor would be better in the long run compared to an 85cc two stroke that wears out and requires alot of maintenence, maybe im wrong, but ive had 125s and being 15 and having to rebuild a top end when all your friends are out riding gets old.

From my experience, Honda motors are pretty reliable, even the 2-strokes. I don't doubt that those bikes are fun, but I'd rather not deal with the hassle and expence of changing motors when you could have a way more powerful setup for alot less money w/ the cr motor.

cr is no fun you might as well get a 125 if you want a race bike, back yard race bikes are 50s,90s,110s and 100s

Well..I have a kx80..and I know..trust me..you bore them and such..and they are screamers..But this bike is going to be a trail/jump/hillclimb/whatever else bike..not made to go fast..hah..I love 2 strokes..But the upkeep on 2 strokes must be perfect..or you'll be redoing the topend alot..So yeah..I'm just looking to kill some time..and build a sick little bike that I can pimp on hah :p I'll also be building a trx90 with a kx80 motor if I can ever find a frame for less then 1000 bucks..hah..416 is still on her way also.
