96 300ex with 86 350x motor

i am looking at a 1996 300ex with a 86 350x motor. my ? is can anybody tell me any info on this motor? i heard it's pretty quick, but how quick? take a 400ex or 250r? dont really know but i can get deal on the quad, 1500 bucks. i am wondering if it cooks or not and is there any performance parts to make this thing blaze past a YFZ450? any info would be appreciated!:)

it can be close to a 400ex but i imagine it would take some serious coin to be able to out run a yfz450.if its in good shape and the conversion is clean,go for it.theres a lot of hop up potential for the 350x motor.they were made in 85 and 86.you could get them close to 500cc with a bore and stroke.:)

I have a 350x and a 400ex and the motors are almost identical. In my opinion the 350x pulls harder down low and revs higher than a 400. I think the 350 doesn't have a revlimiter. Also the 350 is a six speed which makes it faster than my 400, but the 350 is way lighter becasue it is a trike not converted.

with my 350x motor i eat 400exs alive and im running with slightly modded yfz's and 450rs
