my dads 400ex and brothers trx90 are both having the same problem with the rear brake and i need to fix them. if you step on the foot brake it stays down and does not come back up leaving the brakes engaged. i looked at the brake fluid rezzy on the 400 and it was pretty low, do you think bleeding it and adding new fluid would be what it needs? is there something that may need lube? the 90 does the same thing so im not sure if its the same reason or different problems. thanks guys

Check the spring and take apart the brake pedel and lube them. They might have just got a lil rusty.

I had the same problem on my 400. It came on suddenly right after I replace the pads. The pedal siezed and toasted brand new pads in about 15 minutes:(

If the pedal can be moved fairly easily it shouldn't be too difficult to remove. I had a heck of a time getting mine off. A buddies quad had the same problem but his symptoms came on sooner so it wasn't too dificult to remove.

Clean the pivot shaft and lube it real good and you should be good to go.
