i am looking to buy some tusk or ac nerfs and i need to know if i can still use the stock heelguards? i know that ac's are better but tusks are cheap and i am on a limited budget

also is a 14 tooth front sprocket a good mod? will it feel like i added an actual performance mod to it like the pipe did?

thanks guys

you will lose a lot of top end with that 14 on. you will gain bottom end and it will be nice for tight trails or tight tracks.

I had the AC's with stock pegs/guards...I had to do a little drilling...but it will work.

A 14T front sprocket is good for very tight trails and hill climbs like cals400ex said. If you do any other type of riding, this mod will suck big time. When I put 18" rear tires on my 400 (same thing as putting on 14T) my quad's performance was not too pleasing. Therefore I geared up to a 16T front and a 39T rear to compensate.

The 14T is a good mod if you want the quad to rev out much too quickly. To give you an idea, if you throttle wheelie the 400 in 1st or 2nd with that 14T, you will already have to shift before you even hit the balance point. Each gear will become significantly shorter as a result.

ok thanks guys, i ride xc and i suppose the 14t would be a great mod

what did you have to drill out to get the nerfs to fit?
