we'll be going to ocotillo wells this weekend, anyone else heading out there?

I'm in Sacramento. Where is Ocotillo Wells from here and what type of riding is there ? Also , how big is the riding area? Thanks

ocotillo wells is in the southern most part of california, about 8-9 hours from sacramento area. try ohv.parks.ca.gov website or type in ocotillo wells and you should get plenty of info. there are miles of riding there, from sand washes to hills to lots of marked trails. you can get maps from the rangers there and there is plenty of open camping. as far as going in july iwouldn't reccomend it; it will be around 100 degrees. of course you're from tucson area so you might not mind.you will have the place all to yourself at that time.

I was in Buttercup last weekend and it was pretty hot. We had our EzUp and all kinds of drinks but it was still killer. You will be pretty lonely out there on the 4th.
