Ok, I have a little question for you wizards...

When my 250x is just sitting there idling and I hit the gas to rev it, it either almost stalls out or does stall out. But if I give it gas slowly then it revs fine. I dont know if the jetting has been changed it has a DG RCM (crap) silencer, other then that, Im not sure, everything else looks pretty much stock. Im not a mechanic, and am still kinda new with quads. I pulled the plug out today and checked it out. Its black but doesnt look like it had any buildup on it. So Im going to find get a new plug. Any one else have any ideas on what it might be.

All bikes do this, the engine getting flooded with fuel, some times it will act like it will turn off but then it revs up. Dont worry and ride the damn thing:D

Your pilot could be too large, or your air/fuel screw could be misadjusted.

my 400ex was just doing the same thing , look in your carb and make sure that ur needle diddnt pull all the way out and got stuck outside the jet hole. this is exactally what happened to my 400.

My 400 was doing this. I kept messing with the pilot and the fuel screw, with those making little difference I decided to mess with the needle. As soon as i droped the needle one notch, my probs were over. Now when I hit the gas it goes.

Try a bigger main jet.

Go down a size on the pilot jet. Since it stalls a bit and the plug is black, I'd say it is running rich. If this just happens when you give it gas from idle, it is most likely the pilot circuit.
