buy a new cable from dealership. they are only like $15 or something. Try that first

Yeah, go buy a cable and see if that helps before you start tearing things apart, I bought a new Motion Pro cable at the local bike shop for like $15 and that thing pulls damn near as easy as if I had an ASV lever on there.

an even better idea would be to squirt wd-40 down the cable and see if that does anything
if not get a new cable

The wd-40 is like a temporary fix, cause it will get hard again after a few rides, I just replaced my cable and its worlds better. If its still hard/sticky like after that it could be the grooves in your clutch basket.

theres probably dirt and stuff in the rubber part. i have a cable luber thing i bought and cable lube and i squirt it down. the cable pulls like a dream. u might want to try that first before you go out and order a cable.

i replaced that cable with a motion pro and it pulled just the same. i was told by a friend of mine to open the case and check it out.
since i had alread bought a clutch kit, i installed that and it pulls just as hard.

Did your clutch kit come with springs? If so they could be the stiffer springs. This would make your clutch slip less, but is harder to pull on the lever.

If your cable isnt frayed then cleaning the cable out thoroughly with wd-40 should make it work like brand new. If your going to be spraying a lot of fluid, then detach the cable from your carb so it doesnt drain inside your carb.

Did you even read anything at all??? How will lubing the clutch cable get fluid into the carb????

kit came with friction disks, pressure plates and springs. the old friction disks look really good but the pressure plates had some blueing on them from heat, and were worn, but not bad.

i thought that new springs would be slightly stiff but just not that stiff.
i'll be breaking it in at sand mountain mem day, so we'll see.

cant do much more than i already have.

hey i thought i'd throw this out there....

when you guys replace the clutch cable how much better is it? mine is kind of stiff, but then again it's always been kind of stiff. not bothering me. but on my kfx it's easy as hell to pull. should the stiffness in the clutch cable (or lack there of on the kfx) be about the same?
