Chain Breaking

Hey, i just got my new chain today but its about 8 links too long. I dont have a chain breaker, is there an alternative to using a chain breaker that wont screw anything up? I have a bolt cutter :D Help is appreciated

Use a grinder if you have one on hand, grind the pins off the link that you need to put the masterlink on and then pound the pins out with a punch.

i have also used like a chisel before to seperate the sides,it will pull from the rivets,a few nice whacks should to it:) but a grinder is my first choice though:)
