I HAVE AN 86 R AND I WANT TO PUT 400EX FRNT HUBS. WILL ALL THE PARTS FIT (HUBS, ROTORS, CALIPERS BRAKE LINES) IS IT JUST A SWAP???

dont do it 400ex calipers suck. and theres no advantage from running the other stuff.

first off to get it to work, you need to use 400ex spindles.then all the other parts you listed will fit once you use the ex spindles.
i think 400ex stuff is better then the R stuff.the ex parts are lighter and stronger. the only thing that may not work as well is the calipers. the ex calipers are single piston and the R"s are dual piston(better stopping power). Ive run both setup's on mx bikes and xc bikes, in my opinion for xc riding the ex calipers will work fine. but for mx where you need to stop faster in short distances from higher speeds the ex calipers are not really up to the task if your a serious racer. But for a weekend warrior the will be ok. you can always spend $200 and get adapters to use your R calipers on ex spindles.

i recommend switching to ex stuff.

if you hav an 88 89 r you can use there spindles with 400ex hubs. if you are going to switch to sumthing switch to a 450R setup. its actually superior to the 400ex and has better breaks. theres a post in here sumwheres about it
