Has anyone seen/have these? Anyone got pics of them on a 400EX? They look like they are made well. I want nerfs but dont really care for the nets in the woods, the PRM's look like a good alternative.

I haven't seen them myself, but if they're basically a nerf bar without nets, then I wouldn't personally recommend them. I've read that they used to make nerfs without nets way back in the day. But if you lost your footing, you could easily break your leg from the impact of the bar. I remember reading about it somewhere. And I'm pretty sure that's why they put the nets on just about all nerfs now.

Maybe, but I've never heard of that, and I've been riding from back in the day(my first atv was an 84 250R). Anyways you can break your leg riding a quad a million different ways. The PRM has a metal floor board(instead of nets) and integrated heel guards with foot peg extensions, looks good for XC/woods use. Just wondering if any one has them.

I like the look of the metal floorboards better than the net for xc.

I think the nets make it look like an mx quad.
I don't know if it makes much difference but how much heavier are the all metal ones than the ones with nets??

I've got a set on my 400ex.

I like them. Basically Nerf bars, with thinner metal instead of nets. They are angeled towards the frame, so water and mud runs off quickly.

I actually had my boot get caught in my old nets once after a hard landing, so in that situation, the PRM sidebars are much better.

I mostly ride in the woods and dunes. No track racing here.

I'd slide right off those, but the nets catch my feet.

Actually, with the way the holes are stamped into the flooring through the bottom it leaves the top sort of like a cheese grater. They have a lot better bite than you would initially think just by looking at them. Also the extra lengths of the pegs that extend to the edge of the bars have really good teeth and hold your boots in place very well. I will say that these are not for everyone. My buddy has a Predator with nerfs and he said they were just too different, but on the other side my other buddy has a stock KFX700 and he liked them well enough that he said he would be ordering a set soon. Like I said in another post, each to their own.

Do they have better bite than this?

Probably not, but you get a hell of a lot more for your money.

Actually the thing that's nice is that the pegs don't stop at the stock length like the one's in your pic. The side bars actually double the length of the stock pegs.

But why would you want your foot to be that far out on the peg? With mine, my feet hardly move when I try.

my pro armor pro-peg nerfs have longer pegs with a kick up, they are not that long, and they are almost too long...
i considered the sidebars, now that i have seen them, i am glad i didn't get them. they look horrible and the kick-up is too far away from the bike.

And the perfect place for about 30 extra pounds of mud to pile up. No thanks. The nets are alot better in my opinion, but its just that........my opinion. :)

I'm getting ready to install a set of nets on my 2nd 400ex.

If I remember, I'll pull off the PRM sidebars off my other 400ex and weigh them, then the nerfs, to give you and idea of the difference.

I'm still not sure I like the sidebars. They function well, just not sure on the looks. Its probably just because everyone else and there mothers use standard nerfs /w nets, so the PRM's look "odd / different". :p
