i need to get a starting point to get carb tuned in it is a 38 a/s the motor is a 310, this thing is back firing and has no power. can someone atleast give me a starting point im in michigan if that will help at all thanks

was it running good before you added the new carb-
what was the old carb?
what jets are in it now?

bottom clip on main
idles fine revs up fine but as soon as you put a load on it it dies or falls flat on its face

well you have to do it one step at a time, check the idle circuit, check the plug and then make the adjustments, one you have that perfect, do the needle, with 1/2 trottle plug checks, the the main, you have to get the bottom end working good, then work you way up, it's the only way to do it, takes a while but it works
