frame cracked please help!!!

hello, the frame is cracked right above the shock mount on the frame on both sides. one side is half way cracked through and the other one is totally cracked all the way through the frame. how big of a problem is it. if i am doing fast trail riding on bumby rocky conditions what will exactly happen? how much is it to fix properly? thanks for any help

DO NOT RIDE IT LIKE THAT!!! It will break off and you will CRASH. Get it welded and gusseted immediately.

i broke my 250r frame a couple weeks ago and i thought i was doomed. Luckily my uncle is super handy with a welder and he took an engine lifter doodad and cinched the frame together and put a super good weld on it. he also added extra to the back were the bars are bent because when they bend bars they tend to get a little skinny on the back of the bend. so after that i have been riding it and beating on it and so far it hasnt broken again!!! so yeah i would weld it if i were u

i believe the frame is aluminum but can i use a mig welder instead of a tig?

the frame is mild steel and you can tig or mig it.

Since the dirt wheel article about frame cracks on the z400's there has been kits you can buy to fix that exact problem.
