sinking it in the creek

i was riding sat. and sunk it i have no box lid on it and after i drained the bowl and the box and kick pumped all the water out of it rode the rest the way home i know i need to change the oil in it 1 st but what about the trans. would it have gotten water in it to or is it seperate and it shouldnt hurt anything if i sink it right as long as i take the time to change the oil and crap after it happens right???

to be safe i'd change both oil's its easy enough and i could save you alot of money down the road.
