i see people cut their fenders and i was thinkin of shaving mine i would just do it because i think they look cool does it help anything else like does it make you go faster by having less wind resistance i wouldn't cut mine the hole way i would just shave a couple inches off em

sends more air to the engine to cool it....mostly racers do it...heres mine

It does not help with cooling.

It helps with being able to see your tire posistions while at the same time, IMO, it looks better.

i thought it might cut down on wind resistance and help you go faster and have more power at higher speeds

i dont know if i want to shave mine on my 250ex though if all it does is make the bike look better

i thought it was just to make it look better.....i didnt know it had any real purpose

it doesnt, and wind resistance doesnt matter at all in the speed u ride at in MX. People just think it looks cool. Some pros do it because its easier to sight your landings for doubles

I drag race on asphault with my 450R and I cut the front fenders and picked up a tenth in the eighth mile.

Its mostly so you can see where your tires are while racing .. it also helps alot when controling the quad in the air I find.

i agree when i cut my fenders i could judge doubles alot better cuz i could see the lip of the landing ramp. i talso made it easier for me to drop the front in and make other mid air corrections due to less wind resistance. im gonna have to disagree with alloymx and say it does make a difference in mx and i know this from exsperience

LMAO! Ok dude, your probably right.

And get this, after I cut my fenders, I picked up 10mpg while I would haul it in the back of my truck.
