Well it is tough to say which is the best IMS or Weisco I am not sure who else. As long as you have it resleeved you should not have a problem. As far a difference over stock, it is huge! Big power gains but you need to do some other mods first or at the same time to get the full effect of the big bore. Such as air filter, exhaust is a must. Putting in a cam at the same time with some port work is a good idea. You can add a larger carb down the road.
I know a lot of people around here like their 416 or 426, which they can be made to run and are a good choice for the track.
To get the jug resleeved is around $50. I did all the tear down and putting it back together, so I don't know what they would charge. Just be sure to take it to someone that knows what they are doing.
Hope this helps.....

I would try a 426 kit it's more bang for your buck. My 426 will out run my buddies 440 all over the place. We both have full head work done with 11/1 pistons, he has an edlebrock carb and my carb is stock. His was done by duncan racing and seems to be nice. Mine was done by For Dirt Only and seems to be a little bit better and did not cost nere as much. FDO is in Johnstown OH ph# 740-967-1078 Ask for Mike and say nathan sent you. he will do whatever motor you want.
