Now that many of you have had some extended seat time on your 450r's, what do you think the best stock suspension settings are for mx and aggressive dune riding. I weight 185 lbs.

Also what does everyone prefer for a handlebar setup? I am 6'1" and have fairly long arms. I would like my bars higher and more forward for mx. I like the look of a oversized bar and may go with a CR double high t2. Also, people with longer steering stems, how do you like them?

on my stock shocks when i ran then,i put my preload as high as it could go,and then i put my compression allthe way soft, but then came back 1 1/2 turns, and the rebound all the way soft and 2 turns back to hard,so it depends how u ride and what u like,i had +2 a-arms,and it worked better with stock arms, just just play around with them till u like it

for the rear shock, i would send it to GT Thunder and get the stock rear shock revalved and new linkage. it only runs $250, and works 10 times better then the stock setup.

Two thumbs up on the GTT rebuild for XC. I still get some bucking but very limited. No swamping from side to side. That was my issue with the stock setup. I am also running a set of Elkas on the front, different tie rod ends, and 4:1 offest wheels. Way better than the stock setup for XC.

When stock, I ran the rebound full hard (slow) and the compression turned down. Also took most of the preload off the springs to lower the ride height.

Has anyone done any other rear suspension upgrades from other companies. Also, do you know what brand of components gt uses in their upgrade kits?

he uses his own linkage, which holds up great, and just revalves the stock shock. best setup IMO.
