MX gearing

Hey guys, what do you all run for MX gearing? my friend was told he can run a 16 tooth sprocket with his motor... and he is running it, but for holeshots, when he starts in first gear the front end flips over, and when he starts in 2nd gear it dogs down way too much. so wut do u all run?

I run the 16 tooth in the front, but I have 18 inch rear tires. I like the way it feels off the line. Oh and I also start in 2nd gear but for some reason I don't have any problems with bogging down.

he has 18 inch razrs...... we were draggin today and every time he either bogged or the nose went ski high. i dont know wut he is running for the back sprocket..... think maybe he shoudl go up a tooth in the rear?

Not to be a jerk or anything, but why did you post this in the TRX400EX forum? You might get better first-hand answers from people who actually own 250R's. Mistakes get made no big deal, just wanted to bring this to your attention if you haven't already noticed :o

i posted it in ehre tho.... cuz it is a 440ex... like i said, its my friends quad.

its ported, stage 2 hotcam, oversized valves, polished, 13:1 high comp piston, big gun CDI....... probly more stuff, but i dono...

all i knwo is he b****** about not being able to beat my 250
