Alky carbs worth it?

I was thinking of running alcohol instead of race gas when I got my motor work done dose it produce more power than race gas or is it to much to deal with?

First of all, yes, getting the machine dialed in for alcohol is a bit of a process - and yes, alcohol will require more tuning and maintenance (like draining the fuel system after running, etc).

Basically, you should only consider alcohol if you're serious into drag racing.

As far as power? Alcohol is not instant power. If you convert a given engine to alcohol you might notice that it's a bit more snappy and you might gain a very small amount of power.

The real benefit of Alcohol is what it allows you to do with the compression.

So.... Should you consider alcohol? Depends - I personally would only consider it if I were strictly drag racing and if I were specifically building the engine to take advantage of it.
