Do all of the big bore quads with the front axle locker have their speed limited when the locker is engaged?

I am about to buy a Grizzly and a Yamaha tech told me that the speed is limited to 22 mph when the front locker is engaged but can be overridden when you push the Override button. This wont change my mind but I was wandering if other quads have this feature.

Thanks,

James

Yes, most of the big bore utes have a limit on speed when in fully locked 4wd. The Grizzly limits out at 19MPH (at least mine does). There is a sensor that makes the engine cut out at this speed. Honestly if you are doing over 19MPH in fully locked 4wd you are looking to break some axles. If you are going that fast then limited slip is more than you need.

Mudmonster,

That kinda what I was also thinking. But it never hurts to have a second opinion.

Thanks

The prarie is not the same kind of 4wd system. The prarie has a lever that you pull while in 4wd. The more you pull the lever the more the front end locks. If you ask me the system is a waste for a mudder because I don't want to sit there and hold that lever down all the way through a pit.
