Ok we just picked up the New TRX450R today and it was to have the IMS tank on it. Dealer said they had it on and the stem was hitting the tank and could not turn the bars but a inch or 2 either way with out it hitting. We have a +1 antivibe stem on it. and the fastco flexx bars.

Has any one else had this problem? How did you get it to work? Realy want to get the tank on for the GNCC races. Thanks for any help!

I am using the stock bars and sterring stem with the IMS tank. My handguards hit the top of tank about the same time the steering stops make contact. I think I am going to shave the handgaurds down.

Think I've read on here that if you run the IMS tank you have to run a +2" stem. :(

I run a +1 Stem with Flexx bars using my IMS tank. No problems here. I get full motion in steering.

tamehart, is your stem a antivibe or regular +1 stem?

i run the frist design of the 450r ims tank with a +1 burgard anti vibe stem fasst flexx cr hi bend bars and powermadds and i had to use spaces on the tank to make the bars not hit it, on the newer design the +1 is supposed to fix it

Fit is like chit...that's about all I can say, I just posted this last week, IMS contacted me and said if it was a warranty problem they will return it so I guess I'm stuck. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

do you mean fits like chit because oif the stem issues, or general fitment in the way it lines up ?

Both, the stem hits and the tank doesn't sit in the pocket the way it should so to line up the front mounts you have to push the tank foward making the back come up, I made it work but I would be willing to bet that it has a hole in the bottom by the end of the season.

mine works awsome, even using the stock stem with cr double high bars. just grind the stem down and it works perfect. Customize it

are you still using the heat gaurd/tanks support that goes under it? i forgot to install it one time and my factory tank did the same thing.
