Are you sure the heads need replaced? Are they cracked or warped? You sure it jsut dont need gaskets? Anyways, as far as cost, you'll need new gaskets for sure, but you may want to replace some other things while its apart. Also, if you do the work while the motor is on a stand, it is quite easier!!

my friend has a set of stock 302 heads he could sell you. hes got a set of 351 heads too and they will work on the 302 and make more power than the stockers. im talking to him right now and he says hed get rid of em cheap. make an offer on em he says. he also says the 302 heads are from a hydraulic roller setup but the 351 heads arent. i can get pix and more details upon request. he also wants to know if you are going to need the stock rockers and pushrods too cuz he has those as well. he also has brand new gaskets for the heads. he has stock upper and lower intakes too incase your interested in that. lemme know ASAP. IM me on AIM my screen name is Shaggs2Dope2000 or just reply on here or send me a PM

if they are from a 351 make sure they are from a windsor and not the clevland. windsor is small block other is big block and wont fit.

i dont think the 351w heads produce more power than the 302 heads on a 302... i personally prefer to have a smaller combustion chamber.. produce more compression.
i run 289 heads on my 302s

get head gaskets and lower intake gaskets, you'll have to take the intake and exhaust manifolds off and plug wires but make sure you get the wires back into the right cylinder or you'll misfire, so put tape on them and mark what cylinder they go into, if you don't, you'll have problems

aftermarket heads are around 1,600-2000 bucks, you can proly go to a junkyard and get them cheap, but i don't think i would

the 351 heads flow better making more power, but they do require a different head bolt if your gonna use them on a 302. thje 351 headbolts have a larger diameter than the 302 bolts. you need a set of bolts from ford motorsport t use 351 heads on a 302 block. you cant use 351 bolts on a 302 block. you can get these bolts from summit or jegs.
if you see the car in my posts, it has 351 heads on a 302. so i have lots of expierence with this..
