I found a good deal on an ASV F3 Clutch lever....

It fits 2004-2005 Honda CR/CRF/CRF-X 125/250/450. 2004-2005 Yamaha YZ or YZF

Also works with late model 2000-2005 Yamaha four strokes with integrated hot start lever/perch, and 2004-2005 Honda CRF 250R/250X and CRF 450R/450X with integrated hot start levers.

The question I have is would it work on a 400ex?
Thanks for any responses

Is this just the lever or the lever and the perch? If it's just the lever, then it will only work with a perch off of any one of the bikes you mentioned. It will not work with your stock clutch lever/perch. If it's the lever and the perch, then it will work on the 400EX.

It comes with the lever and perch. And what does intergrated hot start mean:confused:

You should be good then, just remove the crap stock lever/perch/parking brake and put on the new ASV. The only thing is that you will have that hotstart lever below the perch with no cable, but no big deal. I have a C-6 series front brake lever, and it's a quality part for sure.

ok, thanks for the quick replys:) One more question...... would a brake lever that fits these bikes below work?

ASV F3 Brake levers fit the following bikes:
Honda (02-05) CRF450R, CRF250R
Honda (92-05) XR400, XR500, XR650
Yamaha (01-05) YZ250F, YZ426F, YZ450F
Yamaha (02-05) WR250F, WR426F, WR450F
(will eliminate electrical associated with stock WR clutch assembly)

Kawasaki (05) KXF250
Suzuki (96-05) DRZ400

Suzuki (05) RMZ250

I BELIEVE DIRT BIKE BRAKE LEVERS ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BECAUSE THEY ALL HAVE A ADJUSTMENT SCREW SO THE RIDER CAN CHANGE HOW MUCH PULL HE NEEDS BEFORE THE BRAKES ENGAGE. i MAY BE COMPLETELY WRONG BUT i THOUGH THAT IS HOW IT WORKED

It wont work if youre still running the stock starter/ lighting switch. Been there, done that. The bulky housing for the start button and headlight switch will not allow for enough pull. The levers adjustment screw hits the housing before the clutch disengages. Look here

I just put a dirtbike kill switch on last week:cool: so that shouldn't be a problem. Why don't they tell you these things before you buy:confused:

Thanks

Thats a good question! LOL The boob at Hinshaws tells me "sure it'll fit,. Its pretty much universal." When I took it back two days later to get my money back, I had to go and show him on the showroom floor that it hits the switch.

the 400ex doesnt use a hot start,so it would be pointless to buy a perch that had one built in. i think my new 450 has one, but thats the only quad with one to my knowledge
