Anyone have any tricks to get the left grip to stop slipping on bars
like Pro Taper or Tag. Iv'e tried different grips, safety wire and different glues but im having no luck. Any info?

ummmmm, get new grips. Then wire them down.....or buy the street grips that have the set screws! I've never had trouble getting grips to stay.

They are new grips. I don't have any problem with getting the right side to stick. But the knurling on the L/side of the bars is whats f-in me up.

Oh yea. i've used all kinds of stuff clear spray paint, 3m adhesive, grip glue. I think im gonna weld a VERY thin piece of alum. sheet metal to the l/side of the bars. then the surface will be flat and not knurled. Im a welder so i know i could do it. A bunch of people i ride with have the same problem. Mabey the metal will work I just was looking for a faster and easyer way. I'll post my results and some pic's, IF IT WORKS that is. Thanks

Here are some search results for slipping grips:

One of the best methods that I have found is putting electrical tape on the bar with a combination of glue and if you have to, add some wire into the mix.

i hate knerled bars, whoever thought that was a good idea should be shot in the foot. heres what to do though. pull the grip off and clean the bar and the inside of the grip THOROUGHLY. then you want a good enamel spray paint with a color in it, i always use black. spray it on the bars until they are SOAKED, and a lil in the grip and slide it on. it could take a couple days to dry but do it one night an the next morning it will be usuable but go easy on it. NOTE: clear spray wont work, the additevs an stuff in it will make it not stick to the grip, colored paint is a lil more rubbery when it dries.

Loctite makes this all purpose glue that works for multiple surfaces. It lists metal and rubber as two of them.

I use it and its the best thing I have come across so far. The only down fall is you have to let it sit for 24 hours to get the longevity out of it. If you do that, you'll wear your grips out before you have to reglue them.

ive had tons of problems on my old EX with the grips comming off so i got some tape and wrapped the end of the bars and then filled the grips with high adhesive glue then let them dry and you can not get the grips back off i promise

i use 3m weather strip adhesive, or krazy glue. make sure to clean the bars with brake clean first. if the grip still slips try to use a needle, if you can get one, to inject the glue in to the inner parts of the grips

I use fence paint and it sticks pretty good  Haven't had a problem, but it's a ***** to get off with the heat gun.

This is off-topic, but have any of you used foam grips? A buddy of mine used to have these thick foams grips and I really liked the feel of them. Problem is, though, I think they would not last very long.
Im looking at foam grips online, they are like 4 or 5 bucks is it, but Im not quite sure if they are the same ones my buddy had. I forget what brand he had.

paint thinner will make them stick on there. but it might mess up your grips. they melt on there pretty quick.
