turn your quad into a Marcums 420SS

He'll set u up with an xr cam, je piston, cometic gaskets, and viton valve seals for around $275. Your cylinder boring will cost 25-50. If u do it yourself u need metric allen wrenches, sockets, a torque wrench, and a manual from helminc.com.

i heard to many people call it 426s and to many people call it 425s... so i really have no idea i always call it a 426... its a .120 bore size i think... not 100% sure on that...

Is there a good difference? I noticed when I went to the dunes, that 3rd gear was pulling pretty good up the hills but just couldn't quite make a few of them. I started thinking about building the motor up some, but then all those decisions started to haunt me.

I don't want to pay for a 416 just to find out it wasn't all that impressive of an upgrade. I also don't want to spend an arm and a leg trying to get some more power.

would never own a stock 400ex after riding what i have now. It is worth it, and u will notice a big freakin' difference. It is insane how much more fun it's to ride.

And the price is right if u have some free time and a good work area.

Jabber it is by far worth the $300 hands down. It doesn't compare to the complete pipe, filter, rejet, open airbox, and lightened flywheel mods I added first. Of course you'll get used to the power over time,,but your first ride your gonna chit your pants at the power increase,,,get it you won't be sorry.....promise.:D

I'm going to do it! And a complete pipe too. Maybe blackfreekonahonda will help me install all that stuff.

If I had known how much fun the EX would be with the hi-comp piston + cam, I wouldn't have put off installing them 8 months like I did :D

Once you get it back together, and get the jetting dialed in you won't be disappointed ..!

OK we'll meet at hope creek one day go ride and have fun, ill let you ride mine and you can tell me what you think, I still have the stock gearing on there from the track with 20" rears im close to a stock bikes gearing. I'll build you anything you want except like a stroker for free, just get the parts and yank the motor with all the trail riding you do you will love the low end of the 425 and at the dunes it does the job pretty well, I know my motor wants a carb on it to max out my porting because I feel the bike needing more flow when the stock carbs starts to fall off. I ride/race my motor 2 times a week and sometimes more so it sees a lot of ride/track time and I still runs like a champ. Make sure you get yourself a good exhaust too while were at it, the DMC has a new spark arrestor now so it can be used all over. But get what you like. Ill even come down to your house and go ride. One of my clients down your way has a super hot office manager so I need to come take her out for a few drinks:devil PM me and let me know what u want to do ill help you out all I can.

I went with just a mild bore of 406cc's. It was quite a difference indeed. I only regret is I wish I got an even higher compression piston. (I may do a 13:1, 416 rebuild next winter.):D
