I checked my valve clearances. The intakes, and decompressor were right on. The exhaust valve on the decomp. side was a little tight but i could still fit this feeler gauge ( .009-.011) ( .229mm - .279mm) under it with a little more drag than the other exhaust valve. I have rougly 10-13 hrs on my machine and i figured it was time to check the clearances after breakin, they seem to be ok but i can definatly tell that one exhaust valve is a little tighter than the other but not by much. I think there is +/- .002 on the clearances but im not 100% sure. Could anyone give me some input on whether or not i should shim yet or if I will be in good shape for a while? The motor is running strong and starts very easily. Any input would be appreciated, thanx.

The exhaust clearance is .0011 or 11 thousandths plus or minus .001 or one thousandth. 10 to 12 thousandths is acceptable. Intake is .006 + or - .001 also. Decompressor is 10 thousandths plus exhaust clearance on that valve.:D
