what is the most you guys would pay for a 1987 Chevy silverado 1/2 ton 4x4 regular cab? It has a rebuilt 350 small block with fuel injection and many performance upgrades like a cam domed pistons and a k&N filter its a 4 speed 4 on the floor. It was recentaly painted. It also has a custom grill with New American Racing wheels.

how is the body and frame? old chevys are notorize for rust, if it in good shape and its clean inside and out I would say $3-4k

I have a 1982 chevy c-10 2wd short box, I payed $6,000 for mine but mine is in very good shape, not a hint of rusty on the frame, and has a very healthy 350

I have had the truck about 2 years now, I re-did the whole interior on it, nothing fancy, replaced all the gauges with autometer gauges, had the bed sprayed with line-x and put a fuel cell in the bed, they are very cool trucks to have, it depends what body style you like, there are parts every where for these trucks,

When those trucks are nice, like 1fastR's, they are awesome. They tend to be mostly rat-traps here in the northeast though unless they've been extensively rebuilt. Hell, they started to rot when they were only a few years old, as all cars and trucks did in those days. Nice thing about the '87 is that it's the only year of that bodystyle with F/I so you get both F/I and the straight front axle. They only had about 190-200HP/280-290ft-lbs stock, and the cam and pistons probably added a little bit, but I have to wonder about the effects of the higher compression due to the domed pistons. A notorious bad frame spot on the 4X4's is around the steering box. They crack a lot there. The bottoms of the doors, the rocker panels, and cab corners usually rot out quickly too. I'd check it over real good, as new paint can easily hide bad body work and flaws.

I believe that's a tach option. You can set it to where it shows the highest it has reved.

Maybe I'm wrong?

why dont you guys stay on topic:mad: who cares bout the 2wd chevy right now. back on topic,

how do you know it has cam mod? can you see the domed pistions? prolly not. do you know how to tell the difference from a 305/350? id pay no more that 2,500 bucks. '87 was the first year they put injection in chevy trucks, its just tbi, first generation. i had an '87 and gas milage was horrendious, maybe 10 on good day. i took the manifold off and put edelbrock intake and edelbrock carb on it and it ran a lot better. i wouldnt even buy it, just look for something newer.
