Bumpers LOOK!!

I am a welder fabricator and im going to make a bumper for my 400ex, whats the best material to use and if you guys can post pics of your bumpers to give me ideas, if they turn out good ill make for whoever wants them, im sure I can do this way cheaper than buying them from a vendor..

probly aluminum cuz its so light or stainless.

i would think aluminum for the same reasons as ^^ and plus you can polish it too :cool:

I'm a fabricator also , I was thinking of making it out of stainless.
Easier to mig, cleaner welds(I'm not to good with alum.), nickle plate it and it will last forever. A lot stronger also. I have been looking to make one for the rear , no one makes one for the 400ex.

I also was thinking maybe stainless, I can tig weld very well, and can tig weld stainless and aluminum, so maybe ill try the stainless first and see what it weighs. I am open to design opinions.

Yea make something for diffrent aplications. Like a ac for mx and a wide type desgin that offers more protection like a ims for xc racing.

they dont make them because the subframe and bumper are 1 piece so the subframe is the grabar no bolt on bolt off grab bar

Yes Blue thats what I was talking about . I like how they look on the Shee's.

Camaden, I ment to say tig but I've been using the mig so much lately , thats all thats on my mind ,sorry. Miging it would look like $h!t if you ask me.

i like the design if the duncan and the ac maybe make the duncan style with a dirt screen that would be sick and chrome it !!:eek2: :devil:
