difference between 300 and 400 ex axle

whats the difference between a 300 ex axle and a 400 ex axle stock?

A 400EX axle uses a wider bearing carrier than the 300. So, unless you have access to a good lathe, and have some machining skills, it won't work.

Too bad it wasn't as easy as just swaping the carrier aswell.
