I've ridden my new 2005 400EX through 2 full gas tanks and was told by the service manager at the dealer I bought it from that I'd need to take it in to get serviced after doing so.

I don't believe in paying 90 bucks to have them just change the oil and/or replace the spark plug. I called the dealer and they said for everything I'd need to replace the oil, it runs around 20 bucks.

I thought they had an "oil change kit" for Hondas like they do for Polaris quads, but the parts guy said everything is sold individually with Hondas.

My question is, is there anything else I should look at doing besides changing the oil and filter?

Your valves may need re-adjusted,but other than that your good to go.

That wont be a problem, I just need to find a place local that sells a feeler gauge as I don't have one at this time.

185?? To hell with that :)

I just did an oil change for about 20 bucks. Adjusted the valves for free (had to buy a 6 dollar feeler gauge from Sears).

one thing that my dealer said that they would do is check the valves to make sure they seated right, if your dealer is honest they would go through more than just oil and valve adjustment
