I am looking into a 425 for my 400, and I want to know where I can get a good price on one. and somewhere maybe that I can order a new cam, FCR carb, and get my rockers hardwelded, and a 3 angle valvejob. I would like to get everything from the same place so I dont have to pay shipping on everything seperate.

I was looking for the same thing but it wont happen I dont think. You can get a 425 kit from TC racing but you will not get the FCR. Or you can do what I did and by the 416 kit from SParks racing. I bought the aggresive drop in cam, JE 12.5 416 piston and FCR 39mm. But if you are looking for headwork your motor will be down for a while since everyones backed up.

well, I am not doing the motor work untill this coming winter. I am redoing the whole quad, so as long as it gets done before Next spring. Ya know.... How do you like the 416, I was looking at them, but I wanted a little bit more power

For Dirt Only out of Johnston OH buildsa great 426 at a good price fully done it will dyno aroung 46 or 47 hp. I run a version of this moter in my GNCC quad and have plenty of power. PH# 740 967-1078 and ask for Mike. (tell him Nathan sent you) Does big bore motors also.

How are there prices? ProFab isn't far from me and they are even closer. I would rather get engine work done close to home rather than sending it out. :p

I would go with TC. The 425 Piston and Cam would be around $330. Then you will have all the other Stuff. The only thing you can`t Buy from Tom is the FCR Carb. Marcum`s Sells those.

In response to smoker's question they seem to be a little cheaper than ProFab and quicker. From what i have seen a little more reliable also. He does custom motors so he will do what ever combination of work you want done.

P.S. He has a KILLER 463 kit.

Why don't you try LRD. They stock FCR carbs and also do good work. They shouldn't take very long either because they are less popular than Sparks or TC it seems.

It may be the picture but the porting doesn't look real clean. You can tell they opened it up but some of those pits aren't very pleasing. I've done mild porting to 2 stroke cylinders that looked better than that. I know it's not as important for the exhaust port to be smooth but still. No offense JhallettEX, I'm sure it will make a difference but big isn't the only factor in porting. Like I said, it's probably the picture. :p

It doesn`t matter where you get the 425 Piston, just the Cam. LRD is Good, but they don`t have Drop-In Cams. The Porting from Sparks or TC would also be the Best. If you are looking at Great Motor Work and having it done Quick, check out Duncan.

what cam did u get from Marcums? im fixing to order the WB track cam but with the 416, thats what he recommended over the 426, not sure why.. plus springs and head work. how does yur setup run? what main and pilot jets are u running?
according to the #s, the WB track is a good choice cam:)

Josh please dont get mad at me here but I have to agree with this guy!! That port work looks pretty bad!! If you seen the port work done for me from TC you would notice quite a bit of difference(it looks like solid chrome throught the whole head,,,exhaust ports too!)!! We have a machine shop here that does a LOT of porting\polishing for all of the guys here and his work is actually very good, especially for $100,,,you cant beat the price anywhere and he does a very good job!!! The big engine builders say that when you get into big bore motors that head work is very important,,thats the only reason I paid an arm and leg to have the famous TC do it instaed of $100 for the local guy, but for a 416-426-440, I would recomend this local guy to anyone!!

No Duncan has Stock and 440 Kits. You could get the 440 Kit Stuff, and instead of getting the 440 Piston, just get a 426.
