Hello fellow riders. I was wonderin. How do you make your stock 250r's keep up with those YFZ, TRX 450's?? Just wondering, i've seen some 250r's smoke some 450's just wondering how much mods u put into them..

you need a port, pipe, filter and carb. a bore kit does help a lot. If you got a 310cc kit with a port you would blow away the 450's.

I haven't had any problems with my 270 with some port work and pipe. Of course I run custom axis to help me out......

Ive got a friend that has a stock 85 ATC 250r and he has smoked a guy that had 10 grand in his banshee. But that might have been one of those people that build a high dollar quad but have now skill to ride it right!

just curious...when you say that you are beating the 450's is it in a straight line drag race or at a track? How far are you racing them?

i am at a track. I race flat track and the track is 1/5th mile long.

An ATC is in a class all of its own. You take an ATC with the same engine mods as a TRX 250r and the ATC will smoke it (straight line, You would need a skilled rider to beat anything on a track.) IMO I think the better comparison for an ATC would be against a Zilla in a straight line race, not a TRX 250R or new 450

Also was that $10,000 in go fast goodies alone or a combined show and go? I don't even know if you could spend 10,000 in engine mods alonefor a banshee. I know for 10g's in go fast I would have a ZX10 engine in a banshee frame and I KNOW you aint touching that in a straight line with nothing

my 265 gets her done. only place i got problems is in corners where i get dogged down, and the 450's torque shines. but then i just grab the clutch... when i dont got arm pump, and i let her fly.
I just got a pipe, carb, filter, and a good port job. i love mine.

The ten grand was probably combined in go fast/look cool goodies. I think the guy he beat was one of those people that have a fast quad but no skill to ride it. :)
