Well my blaster is getting to small for me, so looks like i am going to move up to something bigger.
I am thinking about a 400ex.
I dont car how they handle with the bigger quads, i am just asking you, With the normal care (oil change, air filter etc etc) How reliable will it be? All i do it trail ride. Some jumps, big hills, lots of mud, stuff like that. I know they dont have reverse, but i can live with that. Now for the big questions. How much can i pick up a used modded(pipes, tires, etc etc) for? Whats the lowest you ever seen a ex go for? thanks alot!

With the normal care, and even without, the 400ex is an extremely reliable quad and will last you a long, long time. For what you're doing, the 400ex should be just fine as it has been a great quad for me and I do pretty much the same.

You can probably get a pretty nicely modded 400ex for anywhere from 2000-4000, depending on the mods and year. They are going extremely cheap now because of the 450's being out.

I bought my 2001 400EX with all the mods in sig. for 2500. Not to shabby.. Just needed some basic adjustments... i.e. Oil change, Idle adjustment, etc...

Keep an eye out for them in the local paper's classifieds..

the 400ex is a great bike. my friend has one and stock it was lame, but with a lrd system, rev kit, jet kit, and bars the bike was way different. since the 450s came out you could find a 400 for pretty cheap
