OHHHH $hit

I was at the track today, and on my 2nd lap I heard some clicking noise. I looked down and oil was gushing out of my left side case.
I got off and noticed my chain was extremely loose (was tight).
So I checked the case and it has a hole in it from the chain busting through it.
I didn't have my case saver on, I feel like a dumb*****.
My ? is that why did my chain get SOOOOO loose all of a sudden?
It was nice and snug when I first got on the track.

ouch, are you sure you tightened the 4 pinch bolts?

Your chain can spontaneously become loose because of A: what 400ex28 said, or B: Your axle carrier bearings went bad all of a sudden. B - happened to my buddy. His chain was completely tight the first couple of laps, next thing ya know his chain is completely derailed on the axle. His stock bearing carrier went bad. Buy the Burgard twin row carrier, and you shouldn't have any more problems with the chain. Sorry you had to learn the hard way :(
