OK, I installed my Z400 carb on my son's 300ex and it runs great. The problem is the intake tube from the filter to the carb is too short. Will a 400ex intake tube be longer and what is the difference in the inside diameter of both tubes. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

a 350x breather tube is suppose to be bigger and fit right on ..also gives better flow and more hp

a 400ex tube might be longer but it won't fit on the airbox. you will have top move the air box forward or make a adapter

if the intake boot isnt big enough to fit over the carb get a blow dryer and heat it up to fit around the bigger carb

In this case it did and it's alot easier to jet, I hate dialing in keihin carbs. This carb just enhanced the mods we have on this quad.

What I ended up doing, because the carb is 1 1/2" shorter, is I got a 1 1/2" diameter aluminum tube and cut it 1 1/2" long and lengthened it up from the manifold side of the carb. Fits perfect and looks factory. One of the best mods we've done to the 300.

Thanks for the replies.:D
