My MX setup...

18 in. rear tires, 15/36 or 15/37 gearing. Still havent found a way to get the 16t front sprocket to work with a case saver but would like to give some gearing combos a try with that.

My woods setup...

20 in. rear tires, 14/37, 14/38, 15/37, 15/38 depending on what kind of riding it is... For fast trails I run the 15t on front, and if there are big hills to shoot I run the 14t...

Hey Paul, about that case saver not fitting the 16T countershaft sprocket.... did you try grinding it down a bit? For MX with 18 in. rears, I have run 15/38, 15/36, and 15/39 and I really hated it. I was constantly shifting and revving the piss out of it all the time with that 15T sprocket. I just hated running that 15T sprocket, I mean each gear would last like a split second before I had to upshift....talk about annoying.

I ground off little by little of my Nac's case saver until it would accomodate my new 16T countershaft sprocket last summer. Let me tell you.......BIG difference with 16/39 gearing. You won't be in between gears as much (constantly up/down shifting), and the quad seems to have MUCH longer legs as you go through the gears.

If you're weary about the case saver being weakened by the grinding, I believe C&D sells a case saver which will fit 16T sprockets. Check it out, its a big improvement IMO ;) :)
