Pappy, you seem to be the guru of powder coating, I am having trouble spraying transluccent over the chrome base. Base is smooth but next coat dosen't cover very good. light and heavy areas. Any suggestions would be great. I'm not having any problem putting on standard colors. Thanks! I'm fairly new to powder coating.

once the chrome coat reaches 300 degress, cure it for 15 minutes. remove it from the oven and wait a good minute, then start shooting the trans color. you want the part around 160 degrees as this will help with the 2nd coat to adhere to the first.
this is usually a problem with the hobby guns as they dont draw or charge the powder enough to coat the 1 st coat. the high dollar guns will draw the powder over a chrome coat that is 70 degrees but with the hobby guns you have to improvise.
practice on some test pieces until you get the hang of it
