I think I am going to be getting a dirtbike, because I am getting bored with quads. But I have a few questions.

1. I had a few problems with dirtbikes in the past. I rode my little brothers kx65, and I could hardly balance; is it becuase I'am too big for it?

2. Another problem I have had is the twist throttle, Is ithard to get used to one?

3. What dirtbike should I get? I am thinking one of the 250f's becuase I couldn't handle a 450 or 250 2 stroke. What 250f should I get?

Plz help :)

Hey, I have owned many dirtbikes, ranging from a xr100 all the way up to the yz400f. I personally love dirtbikes. your problem with balance, could very easily be size. also the faster you go, the easier it is to balance. Twist throttle is a life saver. I run it even on my quads due to the fact that it doesnt put any strain on any part of your hand after long use. I wish they would put it on all the quads STOCK! I cant personally answer your final question unless you tell me what your going to be riding, and your experience with dirtbikes. after you give me the last bit of information, i will give you some more advice.

could the reason that your getting bored with quads is that you ride a blaster? you should get a yfz or R. but if your gonna get a dirtbike then i would yz250f or crf250r. from what ive heard the crf's are pretty much the best bikes you can get

I love my crf but I dont know if it is a good first bike for someone who doesn't even have any experience on a twist throttle...

First of all I agree to have more fun on a quad get a bigger one!My boys both race dirt bikes and rides quads.Twist throttle is the best thing ever made once you learn to ride with it.I would say if you ride a 2 stroke now try a YZ125.It is a good bike with alot of power.Good luck!

i like twist, just ride it for a month and you'll love it, unless your like my cousin and fly off the back of it and keep holdin on and floorin it:rolleyes:

i had a kx60 and everyone was like, "oh you'll hate the twist throttle" im like " hell no, the twist throttle owns" twist throttle is a lot of fun

i went to the races last night and everyone has 4 strokes, i was dissapointed it used to be 2 and only 2, 4's are easier to ride, but man 2's are fun *** hell

don't worry about the throttle, you'll love the twist, if not, just give it time

Dont put a thumb on a dirtbike, a twist you have MUCH more control and you can acutally take a corner while leaning instead of trying to push a thumb lever while leaning.

I'm about 6'1 or so and I was to big for my cr80expert so I would recomend atleast a crf250x or a crf250r, the X is a more trail friendly bike with a spark arressted pipe and lights. The R is a race bike no lights etc etc.

As you can see if your over I'd say 5'6 or so I'd go with a bigger bike :o
