wild grass fire!

I just look out the window and there is a huge fire grass fire burning pretty much right in my backyard, it used to be a framers field but they let it grow over with grass and weeds and everything like 2 years ago. its all blowing away from here but dam. I bet the flames are atleast 10 or 15 ft high. The fire dept isnt even out there yet, i wonder if anyone called them?

There are some houses off to the west of this but it is blowing strait north.

all i have is a scanner.. could take a while unless i can get some one with a digital camera.


still no fire dept but plenty of cops... not sure what they r gonna do with their fire extinguishers (sp?)


this is awesome, as long as nobodys life or property is endanger and at this point the only thing that is in its way is a highway.

the place it is burning is a big open field that would prolly look better after it burns and new grass can grow. there is nothing in its way.

he's proly burning his grass to make it grow better

people burn thier grass, then it grows back, it is like fertilizer, it helps thier grass grow better

don't worry about it unless it gets out of hand, just dig trenches and let it burn and a while later it will be an awsome yard

like i said no more than 2 minutes after i seen it police were arriving. the first fire truck didnt come till prolly about 30 minutes after the police because they were putting out other grass fires around the area. This one burned about 40 acres of mostly grass and a little bit of a wooded area. Another fire closer to the cities they had a DNR plane droping fire retardent on it, but that fire was close to homes and buisnesses.

by the time they got the one by my house out they had 3 diffrent depts working on putting it out. they didnt say what started it.
