Depends on what you wanna do in the sand & what you want out of the quad itself. They're both great quads.

if you're only going to be in the dunes, the best power for your dollar and cheaper to trick out is going to be the banshee. they still can't be beat in the dunes.

Straight up man. Serioulsy. get the 450R or YFZ. Banshee. Well, great bike overall. It's a 2 stroke.More matience. N there pretty much extinct. The 450's just cant beat it. Reliable. Great stock power. Exelent for dunes. real torquey!Easy to ride, powerband. N Will last longer than 2 strokes.

So just get the 450R or YFZ. But if i were you . Get the TRX450R. With the $1,000 you save from getting the honda. Get some paddles. Pipe. Cam, etc!!

I think it will be a long time before the Banshee is extinct from the dunes, if ever:o ;)

i got friends with both, my friends banshee is mildly built but with all the money he dumped into to it in parts and maintnance he is into it for more money than my other buddy with a honda 450 with the hrc kit. and the honda pulls on banshee 4 out of 5 times. i would get a 450 honda

have you considered a honda 250r? They are great in the dunes. Thats what i have. My friend can take a lot of banshees with his 330r. And i am close with the 450s. Seriiously i would think about the 250r.

If I were to ever suggest the best all-around quad, with emphasis on dune riding, it would easily be the 250r. The 2-strokes power is great in the sand and shooting the hill, but it still has the suspension to hit some massive air, rail through the bowls, or power through the whoops on back trails.

I'd have to say, at least 80% of the people I see riding the dunes, the only thing they ever do or care about is shooting up the hill. They might go ride some back trails, take a trip around the mountain, maybe ride a bowl or two, but then they are back racing up the hill. If this is your type of riding, get the banshee, and throw a couple hundred into engine mods.

Banshee, just like the above post it'd be a better ride if you are just into ripping up the hills you dont need to be to concerned with handling/suspension (where the 450 is better) and the 2 strokers are cheaper to hop up.

It all really depends on what type of dunes riding your going to do if you are just going to race and want to build some crazy machine I would go with a banshee, but if you looking to just Cruz all around, jump, and race a decent amount i would go with the 450r.

I have a 450r and absolutly love it acouple of my freinds have banshee's and don't let me get you wrong they are nice but its a toss up really if you want to go 2 stroke or 4 stroke, but all i have to say is my generaly stock 450r will beat most pipped and jetted banshee's in a straight drag race from holeshot to finish out at silverlake. so i'm sticking with my 450r I love it! I just can't wait until I get my exhaust on there to see what it does then.

Get the 450R!!!. Don;t settle for a banshee. tell you one thing. can't beat the banshee's comfortable seating position! But the 450R performance is unbelievable! Real torquey!

450's are easy to fix up. Really noticeable power increase with a pipe. Or any modification..

There is not doubt that the banshee, LT500 and 250r rule the dunes but most are heavily modified. The 450r versus them stock the 450r will beat them. A 450r with the hrc kit, rejetted, and pipe absolutely cranks. The 450r is still new so soon you will see the new bikes ruling the dunes. Get a 450r or a 250r they are the best.

I have a Banshee, & a Lt250 and they both are great in the sand.Although I have rode my friends YFZ450 alot at Sandmountain and it has endless power(modded).I have also rode it on a MX track and it handled great. If you are in to straight up drag racing they Banshee is the easiest to set up for the sand, and will cost less to build. If you want a bike that is good in all respects go for either of the 450's.My next purchase will be a 450, but I will still keep my Banshee for the sand dunes!

You guys are ignorent....how can you say this bike is faster than this bike with these mods???? Drag racing is 90% rider 10% bike. As for more work on 2 strokes than 4 storkes, it takes me about 2 mins to pour my oil into my gas jug:o .... I love my banshee and wouldent trade it for anything.... Your going to have to dump big $ into a yfz to compeat, I wouldent waste my money makeing a 450r into a drag bike, its a more low end bike. Pic up a used banshee and get it ported and piped for the cost of a new 450r and you will be ahead of them by far.
