the cost of racing

just how expensive is it

gncc is 40 entry and 12 gate fee. so theres 52 once your at the track. you'll need food on the way and the way home, so 30 bucks . grab food near the track for race day, mabye 10 bucks? and at least a 45 dollar hotel and 25 dollar t-shirt. i try to bring 100 bucks for gas (including for the quad) if i'm riding with 1 person.
so theres 237 bucks for one race take off 45 and 25 and do witout a new t-shirt and bring your tent. so 167 bucks assuming you dont break anything. then you need 2 quarts of oil before the next race. but its worth every penny

for the local races here it's A 25$ race entry plus 7$ to get in the gate plus food about 10 bucks a weekend whatever gas may be and the cost of the quad mine has about 12 grand in it so that's what it cost me

The average 600 mile away GNCC and local race on the way home - (800$)....40$ entry, 12$ gate, 200$ gas/tolls, payments on a 3,000$ trailer to sleep at the track Fri. night, 100$ room for Sat night(trailer too dirty), 10$ Fri. lunch, 10$ Fri. night dinner, 50$ Sat night dinner, 20$ Sun morning brunch, 10$ gate fee for Sundays race, 25$ entry, 25$ Sunday night dinner...200$ cleaning and repairing the truck, trailer and quad, I'm sure I'm missing more...and finally..... Lord knows how much $$$$ to kiss up to the wife and kids so I can do it again:D
p.s. barely dragging my ***** in the door Sunday night with a duffle bag and two trophies....priceless;)
