i have had my 400 for a while and it blows smoke out when i let off the throttle is it time for a new bore. probly goin with the 416

sounds like a good excuse for an upgrade to me. :p although you could prob get by with new rings.

Are you sure its not black smoke, cause all that means is its rich. Double check that cause thats what I thought the first time I saw smoke, and then realized it was black.........

its like a blue gray color smoke so im pretty sure the jettings cool probably next month im going to send it in for a rebuild with a JE 10:8:1 416 kit and new valves

i want to put a 416 but i dont know how much more is it to make it a 426

if u are talking to me yea i will have a stage 2 hotcam with the 416 but i wanted to go with the 426 bcuz after the 416 i wont build the block anymore.and i will probubly get it port and polished:devil:

just curious, is a 416 as reliable as the stock bore? been thinkin of gettin it L8R on down the road.

i think it is never had any problems with mine
