Weather wise, The weekend started off scary!
When we pulled into the track Friday morning, it was raining but still manageable to move around!
By noon Friday it was a monsoon with streams running through everyones pits!

RemNS
04-07-2005, 02:35 PM
The rains delayed practice until Saturday Morning!
This meant we were in for a long weekend!
765 entries, 1 practice session, a late start on the motos!
Everyone was glad that Practice was delayed because the only ATV's moving were the Utility 4X4's (and Jorge Quartez's Mule)!

The early and late arrivals to the track found out that parking was a problem!
Thursday night's rain hampered parking in the pit's!
Thursday night the FMF Rig Found out the hard way as it burried it's axles in the Mud and had to be pulled to it's pits!
The Suzuki Rig spent Thursday at Capitol Cycle for some PR and had to park on Friday in the middle of the Monsoon and found it's axles burried before it even reached the Gates!
(Sorry for no actual pics of the rigs but we were out at Wal Mart getting rain gear and beverages for the Friday sit in)

RemNS
04-07-2005, 02:54 PM
The only movement on Friday Morning was Mark Barnett building waterways for the Runoff in the track so it didnt wash away!
That and the several times he was called to park the rigs!

RemNS
04-07-2005, 02:55 PM
Waterways!

RemNS
04-07-2005, 02:56 PM

RemNS
04-07-2005, 02:57 PM
There were a few people having fun in the Mud!

Here John Natalie's shock mechanic check's over his machine! Must have worked!

Friday's Rains were over, most everyone made it to a pit and Saturday was turning out to be one heck of a long day!
No Rain in sight but some strong wind gust's that sent everyone scrambling to pull their canopies and EZ-Ups down!

RemNS
04-07-2005, 03:01 PM
Here is a Tale Tale sign of how good Echeconnee is at soaking up water!
Friday 4 inches of rain!
Saturday at 4:00 PM, Track is in great condition!

ProAm Production featured 4 different gates that were staggered starts of 2 and 2 on Saturday!
Travis Spader was a suprise to see as he pulled the holeshot in the first gate!
Spader was only there for some track time as he did not finish the race ahead of any of the transfer positions on purpose!
I guess that's why he is the Doctor! Smart thinking Travis!
He didnt mess up anyones chances to qualify!

RemNS

One thing to point out in this class is the competition level!
There were soo many of these riders pushing it up a level to qualify that many of them crashed out of qualifying positions!

Donny banks saw how many youth riders he had not qualifying so he decided to throw in a Competition class for the youth riders as well as the older racers that did not qualify for Sunday!

That is why many people appreciate what Donny does!
I would hate it for my son not to get in to race both days if I drove 12 hours for a race! I am sure that every parent appreciated the extra class for Sunday!

Both of these riders did not qualify but you can see how competitive the youth classes are getting!

Here was the suprise of the day and also the heartbreaker!

#8 Cam Covil grabbed the lead on the second lap and started to pull away just a little! The win would have gave him first overall on the weekend!
Then disaster struck right in front of me!
He crashed! Hit hard and was balling some tears!
I went over to him and he said HELP HELP something?
I told him to put the kill switch in and get er going again!
He was all shook up from the wreck but he plugged his kill back in and I kicked the ATV over for him and he took off going again!
The little guy was all shook up after crashing in the lead but he listened to me and jumped right back on it and started racing again!
The little guys made some passes and finished the moto in 7th place!
He ended up 6th overall for the weekend!
My hats off to the little one !
I hope little Rocco Frisco takes after the determination that this kid has!

Great Job Cam!

Awesome coverage of the mini riders! After "The Manimals" crash on Saturday the rest of the weekend was pretty much a blurr, so we were thankful to see your coverage. Doc said his wrist is fine. Just badly bruised. No broken bones. Like a true racer he insisted on staying till Sunday morning to watch his teammates race! GREAT JOB DALLAS!!!!!

All of the classes from the nationals have pictures up on our web site!

We have around 30-40 pictures per class per day at all the nationals!

We just do the stories for certain classes and those classes will change from race to race!

These past nationals (Beginning of April) we just wanted to do a complete focus on all of the knarley youth riders from both series (GNC and GNCC)!

Harlen keeps track of the GNCC Classes and We keep track of the GNC classes!

It's the only way to cover all of the series when the run the same weekend!

Dont worry though Superman (Harlen) will be pulling double duty at Birch and Union City this weekend!

ALSO, I just ordered a Canon D20 for the motocross side of our company (Our wedding side has been using them since they were released but dust and High Quality Wedding Photos dont mix) so hopefully I'll get it here before Birch and the pics will be even better with the improvement in focusing!

Check out the pics though I know we have nearly 70 pics from Production B from Macon!
